The toddler has delayed speech development, she added."I was disgusted, and my feelings were hurt because they are mak

      So disrespectful. feel bad for mom and child, but glad she found out.
      Not trying to offend any Daycare center workers, but it sounds like the employee's in this article were young and immature. i hope they never get hired to work/care for children AGAIN!

        You're right Play Care, it's not interesting. Sad and WRONG......but not interesting.

        (I have a sneaking suspicion unregistered posted that for one of our long time members that she got into it with recently )

          It would bother me as a parent, but I don't think the providers were trying to be cruel. They really sound, like someone else said, young and immature. Trying to be funny.

          Unfortunately a lot of people in this profession do it because "watching kids" is "easy and fun" and there is the sad belief that if you are a woman, you're naturally good at it.

          Not everyone is.

              around here the directior that the parent meets is wonderful. BUT often they hire young workers at minimum wage or a $1 more. sorry but you get what you pay for. Now there are some that pay that but encourage ALL their staff to enroll in ECE classes paid for by project REACH unfortunately they raiely get a raise when they get the degree so move on after they work the time they have to without paying back the money.

              a local center had a child get off the playground because 2 young "teachers" were talking and on their phones
              It:: will wait

                  That is how centers are here as well. I worked at 2 while in school.
