I know it's all par for the course and I've been through it all before, but its always so hard (most of the time LOL!) when the time comes. Next week I will have 3 of my kiddos moving on. And of course there is always that one that just tugs at your heart strings. He's 5yo and has been with me for almost 3.5yrs (more than half of his little life). He has had/and still has some delays in different areas, but he's my little guy. I get him, I know his quirks, his ins and outs. It's easy for me to just "not think about it" but I'm sure ill need a nice glass of vino at the end of the day..

This week I have 3 of my 4 year olds headed to full day Pre-K. They are all 4.5 and have been here since 6m, 10m, and 13m.
I had a good cry one day last week. And my heart still hurt a little bit today. I am actually starting to cry thinking about it. One of the DCGs I was especially close with, and today I kept picturing her in her chair at lunch and walking in in the morning, and knowing that I won't see it again. And here I am getting teary eyed again.
That same DCG called me on her way home from her first day of school to tell me about it. Melted my heart.
The two other 4 year olds, have mothers who are teachers, so they have been home all summer, which is normal for them. So it didn't feel any different to have them gone, so I don't think it has hit me yet.
But today the strangest thing happened. You know how normally the bigger kids are the leaders of the group and the other littles follow. Today I looked at my old littles, and realized that these are my "group" now, they are the leaders. It was a very cool experience to see their leadership and personalities emerging.

I have these cloth blocks that hold pictures of the kids. I haven't updated them in quite awhile and was looking at them yesterday. Those babies are heading off to Kindergarten and it made me all teary eyed.
Yep, there are a couple I'm going to miss like crazy.

I have two leaving for K this year. One I am going to miss like crazy, been here 3 years. The other I can't wait to see go (and just found out that they are taking vaca the week before)
