Do You Think It May Be Scam?

Hi, I am a young single father for two little girls. I am in need of a babysitter from them from 7:30am-4:15pm and 5pm-9pm Monday-Friday and I also need weekend care. I am 17 years old with 6 month old twin daughters. I'm alone with them. I need someone that can do it and now chrage much, please time me witch times you can take and if you can take weekends.
Thank you and more when I get a email.

I e-mailed him and asked him if he gets help from government?
And that I can help him on weekends,he did not say anything about weekends in his reply.
    This is reply:
Why don't I get any help? I haven't asked for it. I don't know where to look and no one will tell me so...I've just been alone with this.
    This is my mothers email.

I think he's seriously clueless. I'd send him a link for the resources available in his area but that's about it. Those hours wouldn't work for me!

I would point him in the direction of government help. Sounds like he is genuinely in need and doesn't have a clue where to turn.

I know a lot of people that have no idea that the govt pays for childcare! Point him in the right direction.

That doesn't surprise me, actually. I'd just do as PP suggested and send some links on it.

He's a 17 yr old boy. He doesn't know which way is up let alone that fathers can get any help. It's totally normal for a teenage boy to be clueless. I didn't have any parents either and I was MUCh older when I had my 1st child; grandparents were dead. So it's easy to take a look at it like "scam" but perhaps he doesn't have family around and is not lying. He's not asking for any money to be sent to him or anything weird. He just wants to have some sort of care.

I would still take payments up front no matter what from ANY client, because sometimes while we know many parents take advantage, you have unintentional issues that happen and get you screwed too.

Sounds like a scam to me. I would email him the link to your local Childcare Resource and Referral along with the your local Human Services office to apply for assistance/aid.

If after he applies, encourage him to contact you again.

                OR

Set up an interview. I guarantee it'll be a NCNS.

I agree. Especially since he got immediately defensive and threw in that it was his mother's email. Just doesn't seem right.

Ask for a phone number so you can speak to him directly- bet you won't hear back.

Is the schedule daily like that (with the 45min break?) or does it swap like the day time care one day and evening the next? Plus weekends? and what 17yr old uses his moms email?

I think it sounds too fishy. I'd send the link to the gov't assistance and be done with it personally (I may not have even replied in the first place)

Thank you ladies,I gave him my phone number in e-mail,telling him that I will help him to apply, but after all your suggestions I e-mailed him DHS link.
If he is real and doing it on his own, then I would help him on weekends, but there is a lot of questions,so will see if he replies.

I'm imagining my 17-year-old son being a parent to 6-month-old twins and this would totally be something he wrote if he didn't ask me questions. 17-year-old boys aren't the brightest crayons in the box for the most part ... in fact, mine frequently says things that have me thinking, "How are you going to survive outside of my house?"

Glad you sent him the link.
