    Grrrr!!!

I have a dcm that insists on picking up during nap time about once a week.
I have told her numerous times that I do not allow pick ups during nap time(it's in the handbook) but every week, here she comes, knocking in the middle of nap time.
She just came and I told her,the kids are napping, same time everyday.
Please do not pick up during nap time! I reminded her that we've had this conversation several times and asked her why she blatantly ignored my request.
She acted like she didn't know when nap time was! Grrrrr!!!!
I told her,you can come back at 3 when nap time is over or I can get him now and consider this your termination notice!
She quietly turned around and walked back to her car! She doesn't work so she can come any other time except DURING nap time! Why do they act so clueless sometimes?

Good for you for enforcing your policy.

I would also start placing a giant sign on your door that reads, "NAP TIME 1:00-3:00! DO NOT KNOCK/RING THE BELL." Goodness gracious.

We have one that says SHHHH! We are napping. Please come back after 3:30 pm or call XXX XXX XXXX. Thanks!

We put it on the front door during nap every day. It has saved us so much headache from UPS, Fedex, door to door sales-men, parents, etc, etc.

Totally agree with the Nap time sign, it helps. I do not allow pick up at nap time unless previous arrangements have been made. That is my break and planning time.

My licensor made me remove the part of my handbook stating that I discourage nap timebpick-ups. I didn't even say I don't allow it.. Just discourage. She said parents must have access to their children and they pick them up when they please

All of my parents are on contracted times. I don't allow pickups at nap time. Of course my kids are afternoon kids so if they arrive around one ish they automatically go down for a nap. My mom of my special dcg and her new brother just got a second job. First job is afternoon... Second job is part time and is day shift. I would never entertain day shift except she's a single mom working two jobs to make it. So, I made an exception for her. So I put the 20 month old down for a nap at 1230pm (since she doesn't eat) in a different nap room so if my three sibling set shows up during nap they go to a different nap room. It's worked out great now on week one. Now on week one of the second job, she does arrive during nap time, but it's not an issue because the dcg is on the master side of the house and her new brother is in the living room with me.

But,, back on topic, when I ran day shift for all, no nap time pickups. Period.

I do allow nap time pick ups, I really can't imagine telling parents their children can not be picked up at a certain time.....but what I do is, have the parent(or person picking up), text me or call when they are here, and then I walk the child out to them. So that way, no knocking, or disrupting the other children during quiet time, it works perfect for me.

I don't mind nap time pick ups, either. I have great nappers who will all go back to sleep if they were to wake up early. I do have all my infants in their own spaces so that helps in this situation too.
