How Is Your School Year Enrollment Shaping Up?

I *think* I'm pretty well set for enrollment as far as the school year goes.

    I'll have 2 SA after school/snow days/half days ages 9 & 4.5

Hanging out at home with me will be 3 kids ages 3yo, 2yo & 4 months. I also have a 1 day a weeker (same day every week, he adjusted very well) who is 18 months.

The only new one in the crew is the 4 month old. Everybody else has been here for at least 6 months.

How is your school year enrollment going?

Slooooowwwww. Hard to compete with people offering care for $20 6am-6pm, but I offer a quality program, organic nutritious food and refuse to lower my standards to the point I could afford to offer that. Waiting for the right family

I will have DCB from last year & my own 2. Looking for 2 more & have a couple of families interested and one that wants to send their son here but mom has to find a job first. Jobs are becoming very difficult to find here. My husband has been struggling to find a full time job too in addition to his part time work Stressful but we are getting by & God has been faithful

Not good - I have 3 kids out of 8. I'm losing 5 this year to school and still haven't enrolled new ones.

I'm getting sooo discouraged! I'm normally full with a waiting list.

We lost 3 kids going to school this year, and one who will be moving shortly. So we were very nervous.

We Had a very slow summer, which was nice because it allowed us to take some time off. And now we are back to being full (12 each day), with a waiting list of 6. Once DCG moves we will have a 3 day per week opening. The only problem is all all 6 on the waitlist are under 2, so it might take a while to fill a PT over two spot, since we never get over two calls.

              Fall 2013:

              Infants: 3
              Toddlers: 4
              Twos: 2
              Threes: 4

              * some are pt, so not here everyday.

                Not so great...
                One 18 month old
                One 3 yr old
                Two full time school agers
                One part time school ager...

                And no incoming interest

I lost three kids to grandmas at the start of summer

Things are right where I want them to be - I do mostly school-year care. Starting Friday I will have the following kids full-time:

10 1/2 month-old (sweetie, I watched him most of last school year)
                  21 month-old - new
                  2 1/2-year-old - new

I also had a part-time family but they carried a lot of special & drama so I recently let them go & I am very happy to have 3 full-timers. Last year I only had 1 to 1 1/2 families so going to 3 sounds great to me & will help a ton financially! I have 3 school-agers of my own so 3 other kids is plenty for me. I would consider 1 more FT child if the hours were right (I like to be done by 4:00 but 4:30 is okay, too). I just don't want anymore families until 5:00-5:15. I close now at 4:30ish.

I'm pretty full - as full as I want to be right now. Technically licensed for 3 more kids than I have, but I like the flexibility to take drop in families too...

This is the first time in several years that I haven't had someone sitting on my wait list though.

There have been tons of SAHM's doing care here at very low rates, so I'm sure it's going to be harder and harder to fill spots going forward. Luckily I provide specialized care and hope to have that carry me through.

I lost 2 in the last 6 months (job loss and aged out) and just found out I have one moving on to PreK in Sept Since the first one left I have only filled 1 spot with an infant from a prior family that I love, but honestly I wasn't advertising that much as I became fond of my smaller group and financially am ok with loosing 2 but with the third DCK leaving in Sept I really needed to fill at least one more spot or we wouldn't be ok financially.

I've got a lot of SAHMs offering 50-60/week for full time (10 hours+) in my area so I didn't expect to fill that final space but I just got a call last week and the sweetest little girl (2) will be joining our crew in September. happyface Phew!

                            Really great!

An easy baby who has been here since 3 mo. Now 8 mo

3 soon to be three year olds

                            18 mo. old

                            21 mo old

One who will be 5 in Sept. misses kindergarten by 11 days.

I am saving a spot for an infant that will come in Jan. & 18 mo will be leaving then.

                            I have one opening.

These are a combo of part time and full time kids.

I only have one full time opening to fill, well one of my children are leaving for preschool and his last day is this Friday.
I have had an ad on CL for about a week and so far, no bites. I can only take 30 mo. and up. Go figure, I have an infant waiting list!

So as of Friday I have two full time 12 mo. old's and one 23 mo. old. Plus one part time 2 year old and one p/t 22 mo. old. And then my own SA dd.
I don't take SA's besides my own SA child. I prefer to have 3 full time plus my 1 year old son and 2 part timers-it keeps me sane.::
