My concern would be that if it's all one piece do you just cut slits through the bottom to keep the velcro tabs that attach the mattress to the frame accessable? Because I'm pretty sure he could McGyver the whole mattress out if it wasn't pinned down with those strips .

BC, the mattress is slick/waterproof-ish so as long as I confirm it's ok I may just ditch the sheet and give him the blanket he obviously is desperate for
I did. I don't know if you would HAVE to, but I felt much better that way. If you are good at sewing, you could buttonhole stitch them and that would work amazingly. (I am a horrible seamstress, so they are just cut in little slits)

Maybe it's going too far, but what my sis did was to make new mattresses for her pnp's out of firm, thicker foam. She made them to fit very tightly in the pnp, then made to covers/pillowcase things. They are a challenge for an adult to get out and pull off.

If you buy one, now you're spending $40 plus the cost of making a couple covers...

      It's an option, at least...

My almost 4 year old does this!!! I put a sheet on her cot and give her, right now it is a sheet winter a blanket, and she still pulls off the sheet on the cot and wraps up in it!!!
I use pillow case ones on my pnp.

i wrap my head up in my sheet/blankets to keep out the light/noise! if a child is able to hold up her head/ turn over etc - i'm not sure i see a problem w/ them sleeping any way they choose. can someone tell me how it's dangerous?

An adult choosing to do it over an infant or toddler in a licensed daycare setting where there are regulations that need to be followed are two different balls of wax.

            1. I'm sure you're not wrapping yourself up in a fitted sheet. Pnp sheets are fitted at the corners and a child could easily get their head wrapped up tightly in a corner pocket.

            2. If a child as opposed to an adult did get their head caught up in a corner pocket odds are they would struggle far harder to free themselves than an adult would. Whether or not they can hold their head up is moot. It doesn't mean they couldn't still easily asphyxiate without waking, and if they did wake, that they'd have the physical and mental ability an adult does to work themselves free.

            3. Regs are regs. If they say a secured sheet is required then it's required. Whether that means improvising the sheet of a child who has figured out how to dislodge it or removing the child entirely because a proper solution can't be found....all of them have to be followed, especially when it comes to caring for someone else's child.
