These parents always trying to sneak one by me!

I have a contract. They sighed it. Whether they read it or not I don't know but it says in it that they pay for their vacation, they don't pay for mine. Also since they part time (3 days per week) they get NO free days. If they don't come they still pay.

So why 2 years later are they still trying to wiggle out of this??

I give them a bill each month outlining what they owe. They bring me a check and have subtracted any days they won't be here. I add the days to their next bill.

It happened again. They added 3 extra care days but then subtracted when they will be on vacation.

If only they knew I am most likely going to be over numbers this fall and someone is going to have to go.............and their kids are ill-behaved to boot.........

Don't accept them into care without full payment.

I agree. I would also stop adding the missing amount to their next billing and simply address the issue with them.

"Say Bill and Linda, I notice you keep subtracting days Suzie isn't attending from your payment. You are aware that you are charged regardless of any days not used right?"

I just don't have the time and/or energy to dance around with this kind of thing. Address it immediately and you won't have to keep "reminding" them.

I think it is better practice to address things as they occur rather than let them continue and use the issue later as a reason to term....kwim?

You need to simply address this with them directly. Remind them of the contract they signed and that they have no "free" days off with a part time status.

I have found that even some of my best dcps sometimes "forget" and need to simply be reminded what they are expected to pay.

I normally don't have any issues except for holiday pay, but every once in awhile even after 5+ years caring for a child, I will still have a dcp question if a holiday in my contract is paid or not!

        Communication is key!

            Talk to them

You need to talk this out with them directly. There is little chance that your bill is going to make a difference to them. If it hasn't till now, it wont in future. No point putting it off and stressing yourself out.

Don't allow it to escalate to a point of becoming bitter about it. That never ends well and it isn't healthy for you!

Tack on something about how little Susie cannot be accepted into care until her account is paid IN FULL.
