I am almost 100% sure that all 4 of them will jump to FT if I tell them it is the only way to continue to stay here....BUT I don't have 4 FT spot available.....I would only have 2 at this time, i dont have 4 ft spots..

Second, who do I chose to move??

    example.....

    kid 1...........attends m and tuesday
kid 2 also wants to attend M and Tue.....they used to be wed-thr-fri (back half of kid 1)

    kid 3 attends M-Wed-Th
    Kid 4 Attend Tue-Wed-th

I think one of my other concerns is that the new family that is coming in that is creating the issue of needing to move the schedules, what if they have horrible children and I just took them on to let go of clients that I KNOW have worked well here for the last 2 years.....

OH the decisions..........I think I will have to base it off seniority
    I am confused...
So there is a new family that is causing you to switch things up? Or a existing family that is changing their schedule?
Do you have four families that currently are pt but you want to change two of them to full time because you have two full time spots? Then you are full?
If it was existing families and one switched their days I'd tell them no.

so two of the families just changed schedules......at the time of the request, (just 2 weeks ago) I was able to accommodate the request..

NOW I have two FT kids want to start on the 1st of SEPT.......BUT my PT kids are taking 4 full time spots the way they are all over the place right now...If I could get the 4 part timers to share 2 full time spots, then I can take the new kids wanting to come in SEPT....

I hope that this makes sense???? I am a little confused right now too....

        Ahhhh! I got it!! Lol.
Ugh- that's tough!! You never know- its like rolling the dice! Do you know if any of them have flexible days they need- like grandma watches them, sahm, etc? If yes I would start with those- I'm assuming not tho...
So I would give priority to the people w three days over two. (Unless you have a family or kid you love then start with them! ).
Or I think a PP said to write a letter to all four and first come first serve.
Good luck!! Let me know how you decide!

So it looks like you have 4 kids taking up 3 slots, did I get that right, or is the example hypothetical?
          3 kids M
          3 kids Tu
          2 kids We
          2 kids Thurs

If you could get 1 M, and 1 Tu to move to Friday it would be perfect, and you would have 2 on each day. Maybe give a one time incentive (maybe a week free) to move days, and whoever can work it out first gets it. Hopefully that works and you don't have a decision to make.

that is kind of what I am thinking. OP needs to decide what works for her in order to keep as many kids and as many days filled as possible. If you can only figure out one way to do it, YOU tell THEM what they need to work their schedule to be. secondly, why are you taking two new kids if all of your current part time kids would move to full time if they have too? I would insist all the part timers move to full timers and then not even start any new kids. you will be getting the same amount of money and most likely, not have all the kids all the days but getting paid full time.

This is like one of those terrible math problems from high school. It's too late to think that hard. It's making my head hurt! OP, I hope that you are able to figure out what works for you. Good luck!
