    What Would You Do?? Taking Time Off For MY Kid??!!!

    I have the option to take some time off for MY kid. What a concept that is!
    Anyway, i will only have 1 dck here and I can send him to pp across the street. She will be taking him back anyway at the end of Sept. (long story)

    I can send him for a few days, I will check on how many. Anywhere from 2-4. I know in a normal circumstance, I would not be concerned about backup care. However, this is purely last minute and I do feel bad. Which is probably ridiculous bc they only worry about themselves....

    Do I :

    1. pay her for all days she will have him

    2. let mom pay her

    3. split it down the middle

    She pays monthly and already paid. What would you do?

    Yes, my contract says I get paid regardless.

    I definitely wouldn't have her pay both you and the backup (maybe I mis-read that as one of the options??)

    I would have dcm pay other provider and not you. (ie, give her a refund for those days) or if that that wont work I would pay the other provider myself, out of the payment dcf has already given you. IMHO!!

      Since you are taking the time off I would refund her for those days and let her pay the other provider. The less involvement you have in it the better!

        depends if this is your paid vacation and you have given plenty of notice then she owes you for vacation. But this sounds like very short notice???? If so and if you have already taken your vacation then I would give a credit off Sept. and let mom pay.
        It:: will wait

          There are some variables that might come into play for me. You say your contract says you get paid regardless of attendance, so you're well within your rights to expect DCM to pay the other provider and be done with it.

          If the DCM is a good client, since you're giving short notice, you could consider refunding the days you'll be gone, but in either case I'd stay out of any payment arrangements between the other provider and DCM.

            Yes, I get paid personal and vacation days. I still have personal days left. I could charge her for the days and have her pay the other provider. I was just wanting opinions.

            It is short notice but I am allowed to take days off with little to no notice.

              Since it is short notice, I would probably credit her account for those days for September and have her pay the other provider directly.
