    Hiring an Assistant

So, I have decided to hire a very, very part-time assistant. This will be someone who comes in for 2-3 hours twice, or three times, a month.

I have someone coming for an interview Wednesday evening. She is current on all of her certifications and background checks (she works for a direct care company which keeps her up-to-date on all of those). I am wondering what would be your #1 question to ask for an interview for this type of position?

I have never had to interview anyone like this before, I've always been on the other side, and that was for teaching jobs or other random positions. When I worked as an assistant for a home daycare before, she knew me as a family friend, and so she asked me, "Hey, do you want to help me out?" ... and that was kind of the interview, haha.

Do you have a job description written out? I would start there. Once you have defined exactly what the asst will be doing then you will know what questions to ask other than the generic ones.
