    Reorganizing....

What is it about September that makes me freak about my house!?!
I am trying to reorganize my daycare only room so we can make more use of it. Of course I just sit in there and stare at everything!
I just added a big storage/armoire to my dining room- trying to decide what to put in there... I want to do a built in bookcase/ breakfast bar in my dining room too- it's not a formal dining room it is off the kitchen and currently open to the living room.
I want less daycare stuff in my living room- but what to keep in there because we will need to be in there a few hours a day...
So- here I am... Making lists... And drawings... And lists:confused: getting nothing accomplished!
Oh- and I have a new dcb (3) starting Monday... So my house needs to be in Oder then!

    Ok- vent done!

well for one thing, it's only August

For another, I don't know what it is, but I have been seeing a LOT of people talking about doing major purges/decluttering/rearranging right now. It's like a "thing" or something.
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

I just sold my awesome but huge official Lego table and little times computer. In redoing my toddler room. Funny how we are all doing it around he same time. Maybe it has to do with the whole back to school thing

          I'm actually on a "throw-everything-out-and-purge-purge-purge-clean-clean-clean" streak.

Ugh me too! Our "eating area" has been our computer room/dog room but we've now gone to all laptops so don't need the big computer desk anymore-just supercleaned that area and am ready to tape it off, prime and paint it! I found this super cute table/chairs for it http://www.target.com/p/threshold-3-...t/-/A-13880623 I can't wait to have it back as an eating area so we don't have to use the dining room all the time.
I just bought one more closet maid 6 sectioned shelf for the dc room-not sure what I'm going to do with it yet-I'm just ready for a CHANGE! I re-arranged the whole dc room last fall and really loved it but am just getting bored with it.
We also have a breezeway that I just purged everything our of and washed walls/windows/screens that I'm ready to paint too.
I've had so much energy and did so much-now I'm afraid I'm going to get sick-that's what usually happens after I get a great "energy burst". Here's hoping I stay healthy and can finish all my projects!

I do that too- and I am pretty sure I currently have... Started so many projects and then I run out of steam!!
At least I know I'm not alone!! lovethis. Must be in the air for sure!!. My daughter and I went and spent way too much $ tonight shopping for some organizational things and things to finish up her room (which we are redoing somewhat too! ).
Here is to hoping I get a TON done tomorrow!!

Me too! Do you think it is because in the summer we tend to "slack" in what we are doing because we can be outside and we know in the fall we will be inside more?
I need to go through my closet so bad and restraighten! I also want to pull together fall themes...

Last week I had my assistant run the show with the kids while I cleared out my basement. This has been a looong time in coming. I donated what I could, trashed what I couldn't, and moved back into the playroom things I'd forgotten about For the last couple of days I've gone down to the basement just to open the closet doors and admire my handywork::

But I want to start September prepared, not trying to play catch up and I'm hoping this will help.

I actually did the whole reorganizing thing to my playroom this past June. I had a new carpet laid down(after living with a gawdawful orange one for 30+ years). I took a couple weeks, cleared the playroom all out, and washed every single one of the 11 old-fashioned big heavy windows, then organized it all as I put it back together. Course that was 2 months ago and it looks like elephants have been stampeding through here for the past 60 days.

So much to be done with my home, purge-wise, but it seems like I have no energy left outside of daycare hours.

So far, in my Great Clutter Purge of 2013, I've cleaned out both bathrooms (both have a closet and a sink cabinet), most of the kitchen, the art supplies, and DD's room. I got one paper grocery bag of stuff to donate out of the kitchen (that was ONE cupboard and two drawers!), two from each bathroom along with multiple plastic grocery bags of trash, TWO KITCHEN TRASH BAGS of TOYS from DD's room (that SHE picked out! Earned herself $50 : along with more trash than I want to think about (I think the final count was 5 plastic grocery bags), and a ton of the dried up/ruined art stuff, and oh, the papers.....

I do this at the end of every summer!!! Even though my kids are not school age I always feel like starting off September fresh and clean!!!! I kinda hate my playroom - I've posted before asking for rearranging advice - nothing really works in there and its feeling very cluttered lately too. I need to pull some things out for sure! I do the same thing - sit there and stare at everything and get nowhere!!

Good luck with your purge/reorganization!!! Post some before and after pics for us when you are done!

We've got a miss here too. My office/craft/sewing/library/daycare overflow room was the smallest in the house. We decided to switch the office and the bedroom. We aren't the type to read in bed or hang out in there, so we didn't need a spacious bedroom. I spent my entire vacation week packing and moving only to find out that I still don't have enough room, and I still haven't unpacked it all. It's made worse by the fact that we are storing the stuff for a garage sale in there. We've had birthdays every weekend so I haven't had a chance to do much. DCB sleeps in there, so I can't work during naps. I need to have a huge purge. I hate to because I know I'll need what I get rid of and have to buy it again. I just have too many hobbies that require too much stuff. :: I don't know why I used that laughing smiley, it isn't funny!
