Where Does Your Own Child Sleep?

Just curious if anyone has their own child sleep with the daycare kids, or if they sleep in their own room(s)... I'm considering having my DD sleep on a cot with the rest of my kids, but every time I try she wont sleep. She lays on her cot, but giggles and goofs around keeping everyone else up until I give up and put her in her crib. She is 18 months old, and the time is coming soon to train her to sleep in a toddler bed, as she really wants to start climbing out of her crib so I'm thinking it would be a good time to get her on a cot at nap time...

So I guess what I'm really asking is; if you have your child sleep on a cot with the dck, how do you make that happen? Or is it worth it to try?

My 2 dd's sleep in their own rooms at nap time. one is almost 18 months and she sleeps in her crib. My other dd is 6 and doesn't nap but has her quiet rest time in her room reading books. When she was younger I tried to have her nap with the other dcks but she would mess around too much so she always spends that time in her room or at her friends house next door.

My DD always wants a nap mat and to sleep with the other kids but I tried it once and it was a fiasco, plus then she fought going in her room at night so back to her own room at nap she went ::

Thanks! This confirms what I was already thinking, I wasn't really sure I should bother trying. We'll see how it goes when we make the switch to her toddler bed.

I give my 3yo DS two chances to have quiet/nap time with the DCKs and after that, he goes in his room....which is pretty much every day

With the group because the daycare is upstairs and his room downstairs and I am not allowed to have him downstairs while I am working.

I had my upstairs approved for napping so my kids could nap in their own rooms and in their own beds. DC kids napped in the guest room on mats.

I always strived to make things as "fair" as I could for dc kids and my own, but I felt strongly that "every job has its perks" and one of mine was that my kids got to nap in their own beds/rooms. Plus, my kids napped so much better alone in their rooms.

We have always co slept so my DS sleeps downstairs in our master bedroom on the king bed for naps. Sometimes he naps on the couch if he falls asleep there first.

He is almost 2 years old and lately has really wanted to nap on a mat with the DCKs. So I get him out a cot, blanket, and pillow just like the rest and say goodnight. But he always plays and keeps them up so I give him about 2 chances and then take him downstairs.

I used to have him sleep in his room during nap time but licensing said no because his room is upstairs and the daycare room is downstairs so I tried and tried to get him to sleep on a cot and the only time he does it is if I have an assistant here and they put him to sleep so I decided to let him sleep in my room (right next to the daycare room) in my bed and that has worked so well

My 3.5 year old sleeps in the recliner, or sometimes on a mat in the play room. He needs a nap and does better if he's supervised initially.

My 6 year old doesn't usually nap. She goes upstairs and plays/watches tv in her room. That's also when we do homeschooling lessons for her.

Weird-why does licensing get to dictate where your own child sleeps in your home? I'm just trying to figure out their logic in that?

When mine were little, they slept in their own beds, daycare or not.

My dd (2.5) naps in her room. When she was around 20mo and I had just started my daycare I tried to get her to nap on a cot with the other kids but it was just a game to her. She giggled and got up and was disruptive. Now any one under 2 sleeps in a pack n play and she sleeps in her own room. I also am not going to attempt to switch her to her toddler bed until she's over 3. I know she won't stay put. She's just not ready. And with her room being upstairs I can't leave the kids downstairs multiple times trying to get her to lay in bed.
