    Parents can be so _______!
Yesterday a dcd dropped off his two kids. Then about an hour later dcm calls and tells me she's picking up one of the kids to take him to the doctor because she thinks he may have strep! Of course I say ok and hang up,then think wth, he shouldn't be here if she thinks he may have strep! So I call and say she has to pick him up and of course she stammers and says she's not sure if he has it, but she will pick up. So she gets here and is of course on the phone, and she's like "my day is crumbling around me. I have to pick up L and drop off the child that I have (she nannies for her friend while her kids are here???) and I can't go back to my work". Well too bad! Do you think I want my child or other children here to get it?..duh! I actually used my backbone and said he couldn't come back for 24 hours after he starts meds if he does have it.

    Some parents!

Im so sick of disrespectful parents being on the phone all the time. I put up a sign sign on red letters saying , please do not use your phone while inside this facility, and when they knock if I hear them talking on the phone I take my sweet time opening, same goes when they allow children to knock, kick on door. They have to wait and wait ....

I should do this! This one particular dcm does it to show off or for attention, I think. Every time she's on the phone when she picks up or drops off it's always some sort of drama! And to top it off, when dcd drops off, he has a bluetooth that he wears in and guess who is on the other end....mom! So then she talks to me through him.

Mine will sit & text in the car while we are in outside. Their child will yell for them to no avail. They never look up until they are done..., usually 10-15 minutes later. Child yelling "MOM" the whole time.

THAT I would not allow. I used to stay in my car in the driveway to finish a convo before I picked up my DDs when they were in daycare, but I was never late to do so, and they never saw me.

She does this sometimes too! It's funny though, her almost 3 year old will look out the window and see her and cry.....cry because he doesn't want to leave. Oh yeah, that was an issue here too.

:::: Lots of ours don't want to leave some days too- and parent's act like it's a problem! You would think the parents would be happy that the place their kids are at for 55 hours a week was a place they like, but it seems like lots of them want their child to cry when they leave, wait patiently while they are gone, and be ecstatic when they get back!

I would be VERY uncomfortable with that.

I don't think they even make a children's cough/cold medicine for anyone under 6 yrs of age anymore.

I don't think I would have accepted the kid into care.....

They don't blackcat. I had a professional career in Pediatrics and about fell over dead when she told me that! Let me tell you this girl was besides herself today as well.... for obvious reasons! Long story short she's not coming back without a Dr diagnosis etc.

Wow! Nice to know too about the cough/cold meds. I wasn't up to date on all that stuff....

Good thing you are able to manage it with your background....

Also good job requiring a Dr's diagnosis for any future occurrences too!

                          Patiently Waiting......

So I recently posted that I was leaving my job to start my own home day care. Well I have been away from my job for almost two months now and I am at a stand still because I am waiting on the state to come by for a home inspection. All my paperwork was turned in for my license in April. Its now August tomorrow and still nothing. I know the process can take a while but not this long. Any suggestions on what to do? I am in Chicago Illinois. What happens if I just start to enroll my children?
