I am currently trying to put together a newsletter and will be letting the parents know of a rate increase. I currently charged by the hour and I am wanting to set a flat rate per week. Full time and part time. How many hours do you consider to be part time?? Thanks

I have a full-time (4 or 5 days) rate and then a daily rate split into full-day and half-day. Full-day is more than 5 hours, half-day is 5 hour or less. $120 for a full week, $30 for full-day, $20 for half-day.Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!- Flag

I only do part-time for 1/2 days...much easier for me to fill in roster space for an am or pm spot. So my morning part-time is 7:30-11:45....afternoon is 11:45-4:30 (fits with am/pm kindergarten schedule in my school district). My part-time rate is 1/2 of my daily rate plus $5/day. So I actually am ahead financially $50/week if I can fill one roster space with an am dck and a pm dck- Flag

I do it by the day. I charge $35 a day, weather they are here 4 hrs(which one client is) or 10. I seem to make out better that way, because then I can have more part timers at $35 a day each, regardless of hrs. I also do not give discounts for full wks, so it's $175 per child, even the one for 20 hrs! No sibling discounts either.- Flag

I consider 30-50 hours a week FT and less than 30 hours a week PT. I know that most providers consider less than 25 hours PT but since I do 10 hours a day maximum part-time averages out to 3 days a week so 30 hours a week. But do what you think is best and what works for you.- Flag
