Changing Your Hours.... How To Inform Parents?

I have gone back and forth on this for a while, but think I've decided to cut my closing time by a half hour. All my clients are on contracted hours and most pick up by this time anyway, but I know it will be an issue for 1 family and I will probably lose their 2 kids (this is the only reason I've debated making the change).

Since they have a contract with their pick up time on it, how should I go about letting them know? I've never "broken" a contract with a client before and feel like I am in this case.

I recently sent home a letter letting parents know that I am changing hours due to spending more time with family.
I have only 4 families. A week ago I told parents I was considering doing it to see the reaction. They all took it well. I expect to lose one family as well, but they are good about it and still deciding.
I also took the opportunity to add two vacation days into my calendar. I sent this home with the letter.

Things change. And two weeks notice is enough notice to break a contract. In my case I gave 4 weeks and asked them to let me know in two weeks or asap if they plan on leaving.

PM me if you want a copy of my letter.

Thanks, I'd love a copy of your letter, will pm you my email address!

They are all on the earlier pick up time for summer so my plan is to just not go back to the later time after labor day for the one family so if I get the info out soon I am giving a good amount of notice.
