    If It's 95 Degrees Outside........

........and you walk into a place that is 72 degrees it is pretty noticeable, so wouldn't common sense tell you to close the door behind you????

All last week I left a note on the door to please keep the door closed, which did work for the most part, but I took the sign down because it is on my front door and I try to look like a home and not a business.

Do I really need another sign??? Come on people!!

Ahh, I can't STAND that! And when they stand in the doorway with it open for PU or DO- I do not enjoy flies getting in the house! I should have to tell my little girls that, but not grown adults

I can sooo relate! I need to put a sign up on my door because kids and parents have been guilty of that this summer. It's like during the winter, I can see dollars flying out the door when the heat's on. Are people that clueless or do they not care because they're not the ones footing the bill?

Course I'll take the blame too cause I'm too much of a wimp to speak up and say anything.

I say something like, "My mother taught me to cool my house & not the neighborhood" as I close the door with them standing in the way. I serve it up with a smile & it makes them look dumb. (giggle)

I have an alarm on my door with 2 settings to alert me when a family arrives. One just goes ding dong and that's it. The other one goes on and on till the door shuts. quite annoying but it does make parents shut the door ASAP!

I have plenty of parents who walk in and leave the door wide open when the AC is on....if they don't shut it...I tell them "Thanks for the bonus.."

                When they ask "What bonus?"

I tell them "I charge a $5 fee for each time I have to tell a grown adult to shut the door behind themselves"

Most are too embarrassed to have repeat behavior....

But seriously....I have to remind kids of the obvious all day, I DON'T appreciate having to do the same for an adult.

This irritates me, too, ESPECIALLY when the dck's stand there and lick the glass storm door. Gross! I live in the midwest, and we have temperature extremes on both ends of the spectrum, so it's not like we get out of practice of keeping the door shut. I just walk around them in my front hall and shut the door without saying anything about it. It speaks louder than any voiced requests to do the obvious.

                    I know right??

In the winter, it's cold....the furnace is on. Shut the door!!!

In the Spring, it's chilly, windy and rainy. Shut the door!!

In the summer, it's hot....the AC is on. Shut the door!!!

In the Fall, it's brisk and the mosquitoes are still famished. Shut the door!!

Seems to be a common theme....you'd think most would pick up on it.
