    Extended Care Cost?

I'm open currently until 4:45...I've had some inquiries for my daycare but they would need everyday or occasional 5pm pick ups. I'm thinking of offering an extended care since I don't necessarily want to be open until 5pm. Should I charge more for that? What would you charge for 15 minutes of extra time? $5.00, $10? If they need it everyday - Add on $10 a week to their tuition?

Confused how I should bill this...

You should ABSOLUTELY charge more for extended hours! Why work a set schedule only to have to work more for the same pay?

Over time is suppose to have an incentive (higher pay) attached to it.

I charge $5 per 15 minutes of over time ONLY if booked in advance.

If a parent simply calls the same day and asks to be later, they get charged the regular late fee of $1 per minute.

If they schedule a later day IN ADVANCE, I allow UP TO half hour extra so they would owe an extra $10 for that day. I only allow families to have extended care up to 2 times in one week. Otherwise, what is the point of having the hours I do, if I am just going to open/close later everyday?

One of the perks to being self-employed is working the hours YOU want and not having to work the crappy hours other people have to...kwim?

*I currently have a family right now that has to search for new care simply because she has clinicals do to for school that require a 5:30 A.M. drop off....uh huh...NOT happening here.... Family has 2 full time kids so it's good money but mom is RARELY on time ever and I am not willing to work so early for someone else's benefit. I am simply putting me first.
