    Rock N Play Sleeper

Has anyone used one of these? My friend swears by it and recommended it to me so I got one for my baby shower. I love how easy it is to compact when not using, and how light it is to carry around room to room. I know according to my state's licensing standards and Safe Sleep practices, newborns can't sleep in Bouncers. But this is a Sleeper and not a chair or seat. Just wondered what you all thought!

They are nice. I however, am NOT allowed to let an infant sleep in anything but an approved crib and/or pack and play.

I don't use any other infant equipment because I just don't believe infants need stuff but I am betting that for those of you who do use infant equipment, this is a great item!

I think we have had threads about this product before...I will see if I can find them...

They are very nice and are sold for sleeping. Babies love them. But they are definitely sleeping at an incline...no where near flat.

Babies do tend to sleep in them with their head tipped a bit...chin to chest. Not actually full on tipped tho.

I have known a number of people who use them. It's hard to know if they are safe or not.

I love mine, we used it instead of a bassinet when my daughter was an infant. I have it in the daycare now, and I'll but a baby in it when I need to set them down for a moment, and if they fall asleep in it, I'll leave them be, but for nap time the babies go in pack n plays.

I believe Nan talked about positional asphyxia so I wouldn't let an infant sleep in one. I also am an extremely paranoid person due to losing three babies in the womb prior to this pregnancy so I tend to be somewhat extreme. I won't be putting baby to sleep anywhere that there isn't a monitoring device to assist me in preventing SIDS underneath the mattress.

I was just gifted one for my youngest child to use when she is born, but I won't be using it for sleeping purposes. The Mom told me it was GREAT and quite useful while showering so the baby could still see her.

They now sell little devices on Amazon that clip on the diaper it senses if baby has taken a breath in 10 sec then vibrates to try to get baby the breathe if still nothing's alarm sounds they're called Snuza I think. I know one baby that was saved because of it.

Looks great to me. Although I don't use equipment as baby sitters, I have no problems using things for short periods

As far as positional asphyxia, you just need to be sure that regardless of what yu put a baby in, be sure their neck doesn't tip forward.

Basically keep their head anatomically correct and don't out them in something that sits up SO MUCH that for a newborn will tip their head forward.

Personally SIDS is more common in children who are flat than those whose head it just a little higher than the rest of their body ( I'm not saying propped up too high). Plus I deal with so much reflux, mine and my new one has to sleep upright for a while anyway.

New baby CJ sleeps most of the time in a bouncer but its one that's flat enough his head won't tip forwards, but up just enough in case he spits up in his sleep.

CJ older sister who is tube fed has to sleep mostly upright, but she's almost two now

My daughter had to sleep mostly upright as well.

They don't fit on cloth diapers well or I would have that in addition to the monitoring device I have! http://www.buybuybaby.com/store/prod...stryId=6727069

We lost my nephew to SIDS so I'm extremely paranoid... only cribs/pack n play and NOTHING but a tight fitting sheet in there with them. Although I have my own personal beliefs as to what contributes to SIDS, I'm not willing to risk it!

One of my infants that comes here has one and wears it each day! Love it. Mom said it was a little over $100.00.
