Bay Bridge Accident Sends Car Into Chesapeake Bay

Did any one happen to hear about the bad accident on the Bay Bridge last week? A tractor trailer nailed a car, sending it over the barrier and into the bay. Many peoples worst nightmare. This girl swam out of her car and to safety. There is now a video of the seconds after she emerged from the vehicle. Its a miracle she made it, and if she was any further up the bridge we would have had a completely different story. I live about 35 minutes from the bridge on the Eastern shore but my boy friend travels across the bridge for work every day. He crossed the bridge literally minutes before this accident happened. So scary.

OhMyGosh! I have travel across a bridge with a huge span across the Mississippi almost daily for 25 yrs. and many times have thought if it would be possible to survive going over the edge!

She was sent over less than a mile on to the bridge. Right before it starts to incline. If she was sent over much further onto the bridge she would not have been able to survive the impact. She is very lucky.
