    I Need Help!

Hi everyone! I am overwhelmed with the work load of running a center alone the thought of having a extra pair of hands would be a pray answered through out the day. So I have two people with experience and that are friends. Before I ask I would like to see if anyone has hired help before so should I pay hourly or a daily rate and should I only have that person come for a few hours. What is a reasonable rate to pay . If you have any input that would be great!

the only thing that I would say is to never hire your friends. I asked around to people that I knew if they could refer me someone. It's really hard to hire someone without a referral , because they are going to be in my home...

Many people hire assistants and, IMHO, the rate of pay would need to be about what the local childcare centers are paying. I think you may have to provide benefits if they work full-time?

I, personally, don't want the financial responsibility of another adults actions... but many others do great with it.
      - Unless otherwise stated, all my posts are personal opinion and worth what you paid for them.

Don't forget workman's comp! I had a large home daycare w/assistants years ago & it brings added stress. You will have to take out their taxes etc on their checks, if they call in sick you have to scramble to find a replacement, so much more paperwork..... Blah!

I just hired my friend. My advice, don't hire your friends. She was supposed to be part time and eventually become full time, but she didn't know what she was getting herself into, and after working only a few hours a day for a couple of weeks here she decided she doesn't want to be full time.

So now I have to find someone full time and do all the paperwork all over again.
