    Start Up Items

    A friend of mine is opening her own home child care happyface

    What are the "MUST HAVE" start up items that you could not open your business without??

    I have sooooo many suggestions for her that I can't narrow them down

    Of course sleeping mats, play yards, cots or cribs.

    Sufficient toys for all age groups.

    Everything the licensing rep requests.

    Eating supplies.

    Books.

    Storage shelves/bins (don't have to be expensive)

    Art supplies.

    Outdoor toys (can use park near home)

    I'm quite sure there are other important start up things needed, but these are just a few I currently have in my head.

    When I started I had bare minimum, but gradually added on once the income started flowing in from the business.

      My MUST have's;

      A great handbook, a clear set of policies, good communication skills and a strong backbone.

      Oh, and a big sincere smile.

      Everything else is just fluff.
