A few months ago I had surgery. I did not close at all during this time, but had my employees run everything for me that they could. I of course was left to still take care of all of the billing.
I charge my parents a flat monthly fee. They pay monthly in advance. I do take one week paid vacation and if I take more, I will credit their account. Trust me I won't do it this way again.
Well when I made the invoices, I was still on medications I had to invoice all the parents. I accidentally gave them all a credit for my vacation when it should have been paid. I realized the error two days later. NOT one parent said anything to me. ONe parent came in and paid that same day the invoices went out.
I sent out an email and told all of the parents that I made a mistake, void the old invoice and replaced with a new one. Everyone said ok. One parent said they were just about to tell me.
Well the DCM that paid the check early, paid the discounted amount. I told her that should I take more days off (they would be unpaid), then it will go to cover those days. Well she just gave notice..... Should I make her pay that balance as well????
