The Calls Have Started Coming In!!

I have gotten several calls for infant care. In the past I stopped caring for infants, but within the last few months I have enrolled two a 9 month and a 8 month old.

The call I've gotten today was for a 6 week oldHow young do you'll take them?

I have a two and a half week old right now.... It's my special dcg new preemie brother. He's been out of NICU for 1 1/2 weeks now.

Typically six weeks though and if I were licensed its supposed to be six weeks I think.

But kids here are rarely sick and CJ has his own nursery here. But if I didn't have a special nursery for him, I'm not sure what i would do.

if you already have a 9 month old and an 8 month old, I wouldnt take anymore babies....unless you have extra help. I have taken a very young infant in the past before but i try to stick to only 2 kids under 2 otherwise i would get overwhelmed and bogged down with baby care that the big kids would be neglected.

I have a 6 week old starting August 12. I would much rather have them full-time at 6 weeks than at 3 months. Not as good for mama/baby bonding, but way better for baby/Heidi bonding! ::

Seriously, though, so often at 3 months, the parents have muddled their way through and I have to undo bad habits like rocking to sleep, not taking bottles well, and excessive use of contraptions like swings.

I would take them as early as 6 weeks old but I have never had to take one younger than 3 months.

Yes I have my sister as my assistant. I normally don't take them that young, but I still have 1 spot that has been opened since May and another spot coming open the first of August, so I'm kind of needing the money.

Is the two and a half week old the only infant you have?

The next one up is his sister who is 22 months but she's non mobile, non crawling, non eating, barely verbal on a feeding tube so I guess you could say she's an infant just not chronilogically.

Since enrolling the babies that I have, I have regained a love for caring for them. 2-3 year olds was my all time favorite, buttttttttttttt that has changed!::

I am licensed to take infants at 6 weeks. I have a little one now (7 weeks) started last Monday.

The youngest one I have ever taken (with a variance from my licensor) is 4 days. Baby was born in Thursday night and in care on Monday morning.

A very special and delicate situation and in the best interest of the baby so NOT a normal occurrence....DCM ended up losing custody of all of her children a short time later.

I, like Heidi prefer to get them young. Helps me have a hand in training them in their daily routines.

Do you have an assistant? My sister works for me everyday from 7-4, so I guess taking on a six week old wouldn't be so bad. She works the baby room and she is okay with another infant.

Right now we have (6) two year olds, a three year old, a 8 month old, and a 9 month old...... 7 boys 2 girls

No assistant. Just me. I can have five daycare kids plus my own two for a max of seven.
