I know...it seems contradictory that I like RIE and attachment parenting practices, both. But, given a choice of stroller or sling, I much prefer the personal connection of a sling. Also, I can carry a baby in a sling and still pick up a toddler who needs my help or comfort. Or wear a baby at their nap time, but still be able to head outside with the other kids. And, and, and...lots of reasons. I don't believe in carrying a baby in a sling all the time; I want them to have lots of independent play and free movement too.

Thanks for the "groupie" comment. I needed that today! :-)

I guess if I did that, he will get stronger sitting, and that should help with mobility. I don't own a boppy, but I could get one. Just putting pillows around him wouldn't give him any leverage for getting back up on his own.

I'm probably just overthinking the whole thing. I was just thinking that if I put him in a sitting position, and then have to rescue every 2 minutes, he's not learning anything. On the other hand, helping him his probably less of a PITA then listening to his madness.
      Pillows would work fine too!

I usually sit my guy up when we're all down on the floor reading books. Hes got a tight fist grasp so I offer him a finger and make him do most of the work when he tips
