    Hot

Yeah yeah yeah I complained about rain a couple weeks ago. Well now we have a heat advisory from noon until tomorrow at 9 PM. Yes, TOMORROW. Actually we're probably technically under one now, but still. Heat indices supposed to reach over 100 and oh, the humidity....

but, we hid in the house the past two days. I have several boys. We are going OUTSIDE.

The small baby and I will hide in the shade. The rest of them are not allowed to bother me for any reason short of blood or bladders. They need to GO PLAY. RUN off that energy. Then we'll come back in and hid in the house until they go home.

    Ick. I hate heat.
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

Yeah, it's pretty hot here too!

I for one, don't mind the heat.

I just hate the crankiness it brings out in the kids. They get whiney and uncomfortable and of course they think if I hold them it will somehow make it all better

It is 9:30 a.m. here now and the temp is 84F with 85% humidity. The high temp for today is 90F but it usually feels much hotter.

We've been really creative with the water play and/or just hiding out indoors with the AC on.

After work, thank goodness for the lake.... we take the pontoon boat out in the evenings for a dinner cruise and then jump in the lake while floating in the middle....the plunge helps lower your core temp so it is exhilarating!

We spent several hours in the blow up pool Monday. I drug over the big climber so the slide would be in the pool and they loved it. Wednesday we spent the entire morning in the pool, had a picnic lunch, then more pool time before they went in and crashed for almost the whole afternoon until pick up.

We haven't ventured out today. We've been happy inside with only a few kids, with play dough, coloring, and they're doing great with free play.

Yes, it's so hot I'm wishing for fall already.

I live in a very humid area...our soil is sand, so that holds heat. Add the Mississippi River and bluffs on both sides and you have a greenhouse! I lived in Florida for awhile and our humidy is just as high! Just doesn't last for 5 months like Fla!

We went out for about a 1/2 hour the last three days. I don't have any shade except for the neighbors dead tree that has one branch of leaves still alive! That one branch actually does a decent job in a small area!

We hang out under that tiny patch of shade and play in the water table. I want to get a small round sprinkler to set n the center of the water table for a cool spray of water

I froze two 1 gallon bags with small plastic animals...one marine animals, one frogs. We will chip away at that tomorrow.

I only have two today and we are hiding out in the AC. I really need to get outside most days or I get summer time cabin fever!

I hear ya. Our heat advisory started yesterday morning and goes until Friday night. Thankfully most of my yard is shade in the mornings, so we have been out in the mornings and in in the afternoons. Ds had a baseball game last night (5-8p). Left the house it was 96*. When we got back in the car after, it said 103* at 815. Hoping it cools down tomorrow night like they say it is suppose to. It's tourney weekend and there is no shade at the diamonds unless you hide on the side of the port-a-potty. (phew)

It is HOT! I would only let my 16 yo son weed eat for 2 hours this morning (job for neighbor) he can finish tomorrow. We have been getting our morning walk in. In the afternoon, we have been out for no more than 20 minutes. I have my college age dd home (elem ed) this week so she has been keeping the little one inside and doing things with her while I take my older ones out to run!
I am hoping for some water play this afternoon but if these two girls don't get to sleep that won't happen! (I can't sneak out to fill the water tables) They are on the patio which is in the shade in the afternoon.

Maybe you could get one of those pop up shelters, or a really big golf umbrella. That's what we used to do for shadeless diamonds. That's one of the things I definitely don't miss about the endless summers of baseball games .

I actually went out and bought three blow up pools for the kids and they've been having a blast every day with those.

We WERE having fun...until my two year old figured out how to use the hose sprayer. While it was pointed in my face and that of the 4 month old in my arms.

                Yeah...we came in....::

We've had a heat advisory all week, I think it might go until Saturday For some reason being out in the heat aggravates my migraines, so we've been going out early before it gets bad. We've played in the pool, played with squirt bottles (their favorite!) and done water balloons. The rest of the day we've been just staying inside. They're getting a little crazy but I'm trying to keep things interesting-lots of summertime crafts this week that I had stocked up on earlier in the summer.

We do have a sports umbrella, but with no breeze it is actually hotter under it than sitting in the sun. It is *suppose* to be in the upper 70's by Saturday, so hopefully they are right. Last weekend!!!

The heat isn't much fun (I'm in the south where it's hotter than hades) but I'm never willing to forgo outside time for cool air. I PURPOSELY made a "warm months schedule" that places both of our outside times in the morning when it isn't quite as toasty! The children would drive me crazy from not being able to get their energy out.

I DID enjoy our rain days here since I pulled out the bounce house and they each got a turn in it while I sat in the glorious AC. :: My baby in my belly appreciated it. She told me.

Tuesday I lucked out and only had my two kids plus one dcg. So my crazy self decided to walk about one mile to take them to the sprinkler park!! They had a blast though and we brought lots of water and had a picnic lunch. They played on the swings and then I had dh pick up the two oldest and I and DS2 walked home. It was fun and it is rare that I only have the 3. I would do it again!

p.s. I finally saw one of those ugly water bugs I asked you guys about with the pinchers! YUK!!

The humidity is awful. We have been under an air quality warning pretty much all week. Managed to get outside the other morning but only lasted 20 minutes.

I am jealous of everyone who gets to use small pools. We are not allowed to use any- not even the tiny blow up ones that only hold like 5 inches of water.
