If they paid $46/day as their full time rate and it is difficult for you to get kids (I am in the same boat, wish I could do half of what some providers here can!) I would make the drop in rate $48. That's not too big a hike and definitely let them know its based on availability at that time (do not commit to it right now if it could interfere with you getting a regular ft/pt child!!!).
How Would You Charge????

I will for sure let them know that should I enroll other children that I will not be able guarantee a spot for their child......- Flag

I double my rates for drop-ins. $50 would be a steal, and I am guessing you would soon hate yourself for undervaluing your services. If you usually charge $45, I'd go at $60-$75.- Flag

BC you always make very valid points. I guess I always break easy, because getting new business has be very very hard.....In my town alone, there are over 125 in-home childcares, some have ads up for care that is HALF my weekly rate with longer hours.
Its what I feel I need to do to hold on to business. Especially since I am the only one who financially provides for my family right now- Flag
