    Diarrhea--Send Home?

DCB is 14 months old. Acting fine, no fever, no runny nose or cough or anythng.

BUT he has had two really, really, really gross diapers today, about an hour apart. Very loose stool (unusual for him), pale/yellow, probably would be frothy if it wasn't in a diaper, and omg the smell

Trying to decide if I need to try and convince mom that he shouldn't be here. He's not obviously sick until he poops. What do you think?

I would send home. My policy is with the 3rd questionable diaper they get sent home no matter what the cause. Its a sanitation issue and if you're questioning it then that's cause enough to keep him isolated from the other kids (and yourself)

Dealing with this today as well!

Yesterday was my first day back from vacation and dcb came in with what sounded like a pretty nasty cough and then had a huge blowout on hour later. When dcd came to pick up, dcb told me he pooped. Dcd volunteered to change him and since I had a baby in my arms I said okay. (That should have tipped me off that he knows he is having diarrhea!)

After he was done, he told me that both boys are getting over a virus and "Hopefully we are seeing the end of it." What the what???

So needless to say, dcb is back today and has already ruined his clothes with a huge blowout. UGH.

        I feel your pain!

If he's having the nasty gas its only a matter of time for the next nasty diaper. I would call and give mom a heads up upon the second and let her know if it happens again you will be calling her. Unless you want to do that now. I guess it depends on your sick policy.

Yellow and a horrible smell could be rotovirus. Yuck! Hopefully it's not
