Unscheduled Vacation

Looks like I might be getting the week off. I knew I would have mon/wed/fri off as my full-time girl is on vacation this week. So that leaves my tues/thurs boy. We do not have A/C and it is the HOTTEST week (high of 92 every day, low of only 73 so it's not even cooling the house down at night). I just texted DCM to give her the option of only doing half days or even just keeping him home. I've never officially told them we don't have A/C before, and it's been a pretty decent summer so far, high 85 has been the hottest and it's been going down in the 60s every night, so this is the first time it's been an issue.

Nice to have an unexpected vacation, but I won't be getting paid for this week if that happens ...

Is it typically hot where you are?

We have extremely cold summers (-40 isn't uncommon) and pretty hot summers (it was 104 the other day with the humidex ). I wouldn't enroll my kid in a place without the option of ac, but that's just me.

I say even if the week is unpaid to enjoy some unexpected time off happyface

I'm in Michigan ... on average we have one week of above 90 degrees. The rest of the summer is stays in the 80s. We are hoping to be able to get a/c next year so that we don't have to worry about that one week anymore.

I live in the Midwest too - completely normal to not have a/c although we have central air it was just added 4 yrs ago

Couldn't live without my AC! Gonna be 95-100 all week....
