I generally try to be right on time for all parties but I'm a little less worried about being late for a bbq because they are usually more laid back. In that case, depending on how close a friend, I will usually show up at least 30 minutes prior to help set everything up.- Flag

On time for birthday parties, but deliberately late for BBQ's, picnics, etc. I find that birthday parties tend to be on a timed schedule, but I've been to too many BBQ's and picnics where the main course doesn't come out until *hours* after the fact.In general, I don't like being the first guest to show up.

I'm always late anyway... But I do try to not show up right when everyone else is... I'm not a fan of crowds or congestion so I intentianally will be a few min late to a b day party and even later to an informal party... I wait for everyone to settle in- Flag

I arrive 15 minutes late or so. I hate arriving on time or early because usually there is hardly anyone there and I get bored or (depending on how close I am to the host/hostess) they sometimes put me to work setting up/setting things out ::. I like to arrive when I know there will already be people there so that I have someone to chat with.

I usually try to arrive on time but always leave with a 5-10 minute time-cushion (in case of traffic/last minute errands). Also if its the party of someone I know (like a close friend or family member) I will try to arrive about a 1/2 to 1 hour early to help set up and will stay after to help clean.- Flag

Ideally, I arrive on time. That never happens. I will likely be late to my own funeral. People who know me, always tell me to be somewhere a half hour before I am actually supposed to be there. All hail the Queen of Late. ::

: They are left standing there staring as I finish preparing.
I am about 5 minutes late to parties. I don't like being the first person there. I need people to be distracted by other people so I can just be.- Flag
