    Adults Are Worse Then Kids!

You know what's even more annoying than repeating myself over and over again to children? Doing with adults.

My current ad states I do not accept subsidy, I only have ONE space available and I do not take children younger than 12 months.

So today, I get an inquiry from my ad for a mom with 10 month old twins who needs care right now and is on subsidy.

    Seriously?

:: I just laughed out loud.

My ads and website state the ages I serve (2-5) and I went through a period of time at the beginning of the summer where all I was getting was calls for infants and older children (7+ years old). Helloooooo. Buellar. Buellar. "I'm sorry, but like my website/ad says ... I reccommend going on the state's website at www.blahblahblah.com and searching for daycares around your area that accept infants. Please be sure to check and see if those places have any deficiencies so you are aware of the environment your infant will be in." was what I was saying almost daily. ::

Some of my adult clients are worse than their children here as well. I frequently have preschoolers correcting people's parents as they come in and attempt to break the rules (stand in the doorway with it wide open/bring in food/bring in a toy/etc.). LOL! I love it! If only they could answer my phone for me.

Exact same thing happening here. My ad says I have one opening for 12 months-5 years, private pay only.
Call 1: Has a 10 year old, a 7 year old, and 6 month old. Ummm...I have ONE opening and none of those ages fit what I need.
Call 2: Has a 3 month old, government pays, needs to start tomorrow. Ummm...NO!
Call 3: Has 5 year old twin boys and a 6 week old. Ummm...I can take one 5 year old, if you want to find another place for the other 5 year old and 6 week old.
        Can't wait for call 4!

I know what you mean. My old ad said no babies or toddlers unless child was already walking. 90% of the interest has been for non walking babies as young as newborn.

I had someone text me yesterday saying they needed a sitter for themself. I thought it was a joke, but I responded back , "for your kids, right" They texted back - No, myself, well, yeah kids too. I asked how old kids were- 6 & 5 & the parent wanted me to assist the parent around the house. I texted back that I was an in-home daycare, & besides her kids being older than what I care for, that because I watch other children, I was unable to assist her with errands and chores & recommended looking for a nanny. They never texted back. I dunno whether the parent was disabled & needing help or if they just wanted someone to be a nanny, but at first I thought it was an ESL thing until the other texts came. They were grammatically ok, but just brusque and not clear really.

I've also been getting calls for infants, even though my ad states older walking toddlers as well... also people asking how much the rates are..all in the ad. Sigh. No one reads.
