Now...I Have To Insure The STATE?

I'm required to carry liability insurance. Fine. No problem. . My.state.just passed a law that says if I accept state subsidy, the STATE must now be named as an insured party on my policy. Un-freaking-believable. My insurance premium just went up. Don't know how much yet, but the.agent said it could double.

My.desire to provides a quality environment to low income families is waning. . Fast.

Do they have an explanation as to WHY that is?

Are they going to be chipping in then with their share of the cost???

I'm trying to figure out why the parents could or would sue the state anyway?

I know right?! Shouldn't the state buy it's own dang insurance then?

This is about the time I would be fazing out my subsidized kiddos.

I only have one now myself, and will no longer accept new ones. I only keep this one because I love his little self.

And parents and the state wonders why a lot of home daycares do not want to accept dcks with subsidized child care. I just started one a few months ago my first ones. I hate dealing with the state and after them I will not ever accept it again especially if I had to deal with the whole insurance issue. That reall is ridiculous!! Why is it YOUR problem these people are getting assistance and YOU have to come out of pocket just bc you've accepted it into your program. I would be letting the parents who have subsidized care that you would need to increase their prices in order to cover the cost of the ins just bc you have them in your care.

What?! Holy smokes! Does your state not want providers to accept assistance?

Wow! I'd be done with subsidy over this. What a crock of !

Unfortunately you can't raise rates on only subsidized families.

                        That would be considered discrimination.

You'd have to raise your rates for everyone.
