So...the dead duck head that my brother carted around for a couple of days...um...would that be off limits too? ::::::
Ok, I guess I know the answer to that. I would let kids pick up bird feathers unless they were attached to a carcass ::
But we would wash hands when we were done

Side note: a couple of years ago, we collected a bowl of acorns that we were going to use for something or other. Well...a few days later we had a bowl of holy acorns and GRUBS. I nearly fainted. No more acorns in the house.
If you bring in peonies, you will have ants all over the house. Don't ask how I know this ::

I wonder if the first duck my brother hunted counts, too... he stuck it in our freezer... not wrapped or anything. Just sitting there chilling on top of the bags of frozen veggies ::

Yes! I found out the hard way, too.

My dds & I were camping in the backyard when my youngest picked something up & asked "what's this?" Ohhhhh, just a dead groundhog the dog brought home. And my dh had the nerve to ask me what I wanted to do with it

Sorry to go off topic, I pick feathers up all the time then wonder what crazy disease I may contract (maybe that's why I've been so moody....).

I wanted to add that I read once putting feathers in bleach would kill any parasites on them.. Although don't quote me, I'm probably wrong.

I haven't found a bird feather I cared enough about to bleach it
And the peonies are a moot point now. They are last year's EPOTY (Evil Plant Of The Year). And did I read somewhere that now they are designating tomato plants as this years EPOTY? Because that is gonna make me really

(totally made up EPOTY, so don't go googling it:
