Do any of you print off worksheets for your kids to do? I am looking for simple math, matching like things, printing help, number writing, stuff like this for DS to practice this summer before kindy and was wondering the best free sites to get them from. Thanks!!

Here is a website. You can print off worksheets. I have not look through the entirety of it, but hope it may have what you are looking for.

We use a lot of stickers, stamps, paint with math...
One of the things that we recently got was a food scale. The kids will get a few objects, weight them and then we record the weight. They will define which object weights the most....worksheets really don't mean to much to kids- Flag

to be honest with you, I hate worksheets... Math is a very hands on experience for my group and we try to play a lot of games. board games, dice games, cards....

I don't know if I agree with worksheets don't mean much..... I remember being in school and learning a lot from them myself. Especially anything colorful and with real life pictures that always sparked my curiosity, more then cartoonish stuff that didn't seem "real" to me. I remember in school learning my colors from simple patterns and a big fat yellow crayon. I tried so hard to make the next letter better then the previous one.
I think kids learn well when exposed to all different facets. I also think that if we don't like something they pick right up on that.- Flag

I like both hands on and worksheets. When they go to school they will do worksheets and knowing a little about them before is a help to kids.

I do think that when the child is too young, the worksheets really dont explain number values to them which don't really have any meaning to them.
I do worksheets only with my kids 4.5 and up..
I do allow the younger ones to do worksheets if they want, mostly things like, draw a line from here to there or color pages.....- Flag

We have some worksheets but I just print one and put them in Page Protectors. They kids use dry erase markers on them so we reuse them. I have two binders of them in our writing area. I usually print one or two that go with a theme we are talking about. If they use them great, otherwise they are still good for next year.- Flag

Even toddlers could try to do "work" on them that way. I would not OFFER worksheets to toddlers, but if an they see an older child using them, and want to try, I wouldn't want to say no, either.
I am also not a huge fan of worksheets, but I could see having a few around for the kids to play "school" with, or for the school-agers to practice skills already learned.- Flag

I use them but gear them to ages. My little ones might color n put yarn on the letter M but my older ones will trace or write it for example. I either get mine after googling or I have teacher books here I draw from. I use them as a base and then use hands on to enforce. I do a lesson plan each month n base my sheets and work around that and sometimes the theme of the month as well. I have one child, last yr with me, that has surpassed my simple worksheets. I will be picking up some actual work books for him since he is so much ahead. I have two other preks.... One can continue with my copies and the other is new and faaaarrrrr behind my kids. He will need a lot of one on one to get him caught up. I see nothing wrong with worksheets as long as you use enforcements to keep it interesting. I don't have a fav sites. I just look for what I want and print through images.- Flag

I think it depends on the kid too. Not to be sexist but I think a lot of little girls want to "so schoolwork" I have a almost 4 yr old girl that loves schoolwork. If my college age dd is home she corners her to help her
That said I have a subscription to www.kidssoup.com and the abctwiggles (they are affiliated but different options for subscriptions. I do think it is worth the money for them. I print worksheets for letters off of these. That satisfies my need for some worksheets and I can pick what I want.
