    DHS Payments, Help Please!

    Hi.

I have someone coming over for an interview this morning who will be using government assistance for payments. How do I go about setting this up for myself? I looked online at Michigan.gov and there's a "Contract and payment" section ... would this be it?? Sorry, I'm super confused on this all. Do I need to call somebody first to have it set up? I'm not a just-read-it-and-learn type of person, I need to be told the information first to figure out what I'm doing

    Thanks for any help!

Nevermind, my licensing person actually e-mail me back very quickly (for once) about this.

If you don't mind sharing, what did she say? I've called DHS twice with no call backs and also asked my licensing consultant and she didn't know what you have to do either. I signed up with the contract and payment express, but I'm not even sure if I needed to yet. I don't have any clients that have assistance, but have gotten many calls and had to tell them I didn't know how to accept the payments. One parent just told me that they bring the papers and I sign them and they get them back to the caseworker and I would then get a letter of confirmation. Is this correct?
      Thanks in advance!

She told me that the client will bring paperwork from her DHS worker for me to fill out. Once that is filled out and sent in, then I will provided with a provider number that will be used for billing/payments.

Hmm for me in both Maine and Alaska I had to contact them directly, fill out the application/paperwork, to get set up to be an approed provider before I could do anything. I personally would interview the client, get the paperwork from them that you will need to fill out and contact the # listed on them. Better safe than sorry especially if the client would be starting sooner than later!
