    Etiquette

I'm so sorry, KYM. I think I tried to hijack your thread, or at least went off-topic. I'm not sure if I breached some online etiquette there. This is new to me! Apologies.

I wouldn't feel at all comfortable putting him in a pnp once he has learned to climb out. I've never used a sleep sack so I have no comment on that. I can say however that I have never had a problem transitioning a little one to a nap cot. For some reason, they just don't even try getting up. I was nervous about one child so I stayed in the room until she dozed off. She'd roll around and play with her fingers, but never tried getting up. My most recently transitioned boy is out cold as soon as he lays down and his mom is shocked because at night she has to lay with him and he holds her hair so she can't leave. All this is just to say he might surprise you if you try a cot or mat.

My kids used to climb out their cribs all the time so I got toddler beds and stuck up a gate. When I got each of my DCK's I thought they'd pull the same thing. For whatever reason, I've only ever had ONE daycare kid climb out of the play pen, and he transitioned to a mat really a lot easier than I expected. He may just very well go to a mat and do ok. Trick: Put him as far away from the other kids as possible just in case.
