Do You Ever Have a "Lazy Day"?

    I have 3 kids today (1 is my own) ages 2, 1.5 and 4(mine).
All three are exhausted with runny noses. They all have no energy and want to sit around.
No fever - just sluggish. there is a lovely cold going around.
Do you ever have one of those days where you just let them watch movies and don't plan much as far as activities go?

Yes! We had a couple like that last week. ALL my dck's were sick (cold) and so was I and my 2 boys! We watched movies and educational programs on tv.

Yup, and I don't see anything wrong with it at all! When they are all not feeling well, it's best to just let them relax. Enjoy your "lazy day"!

Yep--sometimes it's on a cool, rainy day. Sometimes it's on a day when no one (including myself) is feeling well. Sometimes it's a day when I desperately need to get things done. I don't think there's anything wrong with days like that. I just mention it to the parents very matter-of-fact and they seem to accept it just fine: "Everyone was acting tired and fussy today so we just hung out and relaxed, watched a bit more TV than usual. It was a nice change of pace."
Hee hee! Look, I have a signature!

          um, yeah....this whole week....

i've been sicker then a dog all week, thanks to all my little germ infested friends bringing me their sickness. yesterday i had a fever and today i cant even speak. i have absolutely NO voice. we have sat around all week and have not done much of anything, other then free play. the parents know i'm sick, and bring their kids anyway. so if they dont like it that we're not doing our curriculum, then oh well. they have to cut me a little slack. (but i must say, they all have)

and yes, on some occasions when i have stuff i MUST do, they free play much of the day. its rare, but it happens. i too, am honest with my parents when this comes up. last year i had a surprise bday planned for my hubby on a saturday. i needed friday to cook and set up. so the parents had a choice, give me the day off, or let the kiddos watch t.v. for the day. guess what they chose....

All laying with our blankets watching movies ! Or another day this week I just opened up all the toys for free play and let them play with and do what they wanted. !

I do too,... here we usually do it the first ocuple days of 'that time'. We have nutella and banana sandwiches, and chocolate pudding, learning time is usually make your own snack, and color crayons. I suffer from horrible pms and usually get two days of mirgaines. oh joy,.. . those are the days we chill, play and relax.
