    Speaking of state help

I have a dcf that I have been doing business with a little over two years. The parents are divorced. Mom recently asked me if I would be willing to take government assisted payments. Currently I am only private pay..

DCM told me that she is working a temp job and it will end in a few weeks. So she will pull the kids from care. OK, so now what.

she then tells me, well since I will be on unemployment, I won't need childcare. During this time I will live off of that money and child support, and then will apply for every government benefit that I am ENTITLED to due to my low income....

UGH....then she goes on to say, oh don't worry, the girls will be back in the fall, by that time I should have full assistance for childcare and whatever that does not cover their dad will...................

UGH. what would you say to this mom....there is no way that I am going to help someone if they are going to do something like this...this just seems sooooooo wrong to me....BUT at the same time I blame our assistance system too. It seems like they make it way to easy to take advantage of it....

This situation is where mom actually has told you what her plan is. She's stressing how she's entitled (and that's RIDICULOUS. NO ONE is entitled to ANYTHING in this world and I hate hate hate that attitude of entitlement people have these days).

I would just let her know you're private pay only, if your intent is NOT to do any subsidy.

I accept state pay. However, the family has to be a fit for my program first.

I have a three sibling set currently on state pay, their family was a good fit prior and it was hard work getting ear paperwork etc all ready and getting everything worked out with the "system".

But this mom is working two jobs with no family help. Different situation.

yes flat out told me......... I was shocked, but not too surprised, shes always been a little different. She even told me this is how she sends her oldest child to a top notch all girls private school and the only reason that she works temp jobs. working that way allows her to reapply for government benefits every other quarter..

At first I thought about helping her with assistance, because she told me she was going back to school. But now that I know this I think I will jsut tell her sorry I decided not to accept it....

Well how can she get full assistance for childcare and not be working? Why would she need child care then? Or does she mean she should have a permanent job by then?

P.S. Ahhh, I just read your comment above. We must have been posting at the same time. In that case, I'd say no that you don't accept state pay.

I can totally understand how some providers or people in general feel about parents taking advantage of the system. The last parent I terminated she was subsidy and always bragged about how she took advantage of the system. One time she said "oh yeah I don't pay a penny, i dont work but go to school and my parents give me everything i want" btw shes 30 yrs old.

She also drives a Mercedes, and some other brand new car can't remeber the make and model but its not a cheap car either, she recently purchased it too, carries a LV leather purse, dresses very nice btw and dcg too, is on housing lives in a 3 bdrm. home but rents 2 rooms to get extra income, pays under $100 rent...and the list goes on.....

              So yes I feel you
