Thanks for the post! It gives me some ideas for my OWN child who has hit fast-forward on maturation (his interests seem to have ALL changed overnight, and we need lots of NEW toys!).

I didnt get the chance to even start tackling outside toy ideas but yes, all your ideas are great. I know a lot of kids love play tents but I found them to cause fights and kids getting hurt with my group. I think it is just them but they dont do small spaces well as a group. That is why we dont do an indoor playhouse either although I would love to add that to my playroom. tried it and it was a major fail.

but I agree that dinosaurs are a big hit! that would be along the lines of the animal figurines I suggested.

I just got that Fischer Price doll house with all the pieces for $1.00! My 2's don't play with the Fischer Price sets much :confused: they don't play with much except the kitchen area & grocery carts. 2's are my oldest (except or an almost five year old girl I just had start)....so the younger kids play with even less!

I know my kids would love that lawn mower! I have a beat up FP push popper they pretend is a lawn mower! It was in a free pile someone had by the curb and I keep it outside.

I can't wait till my group does pretend play with doll houses, animal figurines, Duplos, car ramps, etc. maybe I will take down the FP barn I have up on the train table and set up the doll house. The barn didn't get much love! I just set up a FP doll house ( the bigger, fancier one for older kids) for an almost five yr old girl I just had start and she as no interest in that. She mainly loves the markers, paper, coloring books, dress up clothes, etc.
