    Summer Themes

What weekly themes is everyone doing over the summer?

    Looking for ideas-

For those of you that are doing themes over the summer or have in the past would love if you shared- Plan to do MGT in September so I want to stay away from any of those themes for summer.

    Many Thanks-

I guess our theme is Being Kids!

We are themed 9 months out of the year and summer is our down time. Just playing, exploring, learning through texture, sound, smell, listening and taste through summertime. Being outside and using all our senses but without a planned agenda.

Its the best and they love it. They get to be kids and nothing is planned, just like the way summer should be. No, they do not get bored because there is always something to do. Water play, dirt play, playing in the mud kitchen, running, jumping, playing hide/seek, swing for hours on the set, etc.

They are wiped by the end of the day and ready to go again in the mornings!

I call them and ask them to!
They are very sweet and will sometimes bring out something as a treat. Dentist brought out "goodie bags" filled with little toothbrushes, mirrors, and toothpaste. Police officers brought out pencils, drawstring backpacks, pads of paper, and police stickers. The kids really enjoy climbing into their vehicles and I take pictures of them.

We have nothing planned either. I have some neat one day things I found on Pinterest but that's about it. Today we had a car/toy wash. I decided 15 minutes before we went out when they asked they can do water stuff today. It's a nice break for me too.

That is exactly why I love summer too!

No curriculum, no planned activities and nothing but fun, fun, fun!!!

Summer time is the one time during the year that we simply play the day by ear and do whatever the day allows us to do when ever we feel like doing it.
