    Unexplained Rash

Do you send home for a unexplained body rash? I have a little guy who when I went to change diaper this morning has a rash that covers his belly, sides, down to his private area and on his back...they are red no heads but is raised. Not on arms or legs or face but on neck going into hair. Parent didn't say a word at drop off. I called parent and asked if maybe a change of soap? She said no...so I'm sending home. Would you have?

I would absolutely send home. There is NO way to know for sure what the child has or may have without a doctor's visit.

I'd exclude until he either gets a diagnosis or until the rash is 100% gone.

NO exceptions...you have NO idea what he could have.

I would send home. Child cannot return until rash (and any other symptoms) are gone OR they go to the doctors, know for sure what this is and if its contagious.

I would send home and not allow return until rash is gone or child has a diagnosis.

Send home and require a doctors note saying what the rash is and that it's not contagious. Last year I had a mom insisting that her boys had mosquito bites so I allowed them in. This led to the Infatago debacle of 2012.

          Never again...

You have to go with your gut. I would send home for an unexplained rash (as my state requires me to do), but this SOUNDS like a diaper rash to me. If you feel it could be anything else, then sending home is the thing to do.
