    Friday Nights

As soon as that last child walks out the door, do you pour yourself a drink, put your feet up and collapse on the couch? Or do you all of a sudden have a burst of energy and want to do it all?
As for me, I feel like a deflated balloon, letting out one long slow breath, trying to release and forget all the stress of the week. Course then Saturday morning I wake up to a house that looks like a tornado came ripping through.

Depends on the day. This week I've been done early and have had lots of extra energy. I accidentally started cleaning out my attic on Tuesday and have worked up there a couple of hours after work all week.

I say "accidentally" because I only meant to take some boxes up, but I moved a couple, then took a couple down to sort through, then moved a few more, then found some stuff to donate, then moved more boxes, then found some stuff to throw out, and before I knew it I'd cleaned half the attic! ::

I let out a slow breath, grab the bottle (yes, bottle) of wine, drink it within 1 hour, plan mine & my Hubby's motorcycle rides for the weekend (yes, I am a biker Babe & proud of it), turn on the stereo & dance my butt off!

BTW, we have a Sportie that WE did our own paint work on. Just finished her up last weekend. And she turned out B A D!

Actually, I've been trying to go to Zumba on Friday nights, right after work. I leave work and go right to the gym. I've been away from it for a little while because I have been going to my husband's lacrosse games, but his season ended (they won the Championship!) so I will probably be back at it next week.

I clean up, put the chairs up, vacuum the floors and then head home for the evening.

Unfortunately for me, I can't stop. I get home and immediately start taking care of whatever chores need to be done at home.

This last Friday night, I mowed the lawn. (we have a 3.5 acre lawn) I push mow because I crave redundant tasks in order for my brain to slow down.

A lot of times on Friday evenings we have a fire in the fire pit on the patio and my DH and I hang out there. Sometimes we invite friends over but I prefer to do that on Saturdays instead since I spent all week with other humans.

I don't really drink very often so if I do, it is then. Nothing beats standing around a bon-fire with a ****tail and a good conversation.

In the summer months though after a long week, my DH usually has all the coolers packed and we head out on our houseboat for the weekend.

We head out to a popular island on our lake (it's about a 40 minute boat cruise to get there) and park for the weekend. We have a lot of friends who also own houseboats and we all meet there Friday nights and camp out until late Sunday.

It is THE best way to spend a long lazy summer weekend! lovethis

All I do is pack up the entryway chairs, put away books read during pick-up, and do NOTHING on Fridays. I accomplish all errands during the week so nothing needs to be done on Friday nights. Friday afternoons I intentionally bring out toys during center time that haven't been played with all week so that I can clean and tidy up everything in the kitchen, daycare room 1, daycare room 2, and daycare room 3. I am also switching out their napping laundry (sheets in one load, blankets in another) so that is done by the time the end of the day arrives. As they are putting on their shoes and packing up backpacks, I quickly clean the bathroom in the entryway.

I used to pour myself an adult beverage, sit in the bathtub, and relax.

Since I'm 7 months pregnant, I now pour myself either a sparkling water/orange juice mixture or some coconut water, sit in the bathtub, and relax. ::
