2 Year Old Moving Across Country And I Want To Give Her A Memory Type Gift?..

I live in Nebraska and I have had a family for about a year and I am the only daycare their now 2 year old girl has went to. They are moving in 2 weeks to Utah to where the mom is from and so we will miss them greatly. I want to give the little girl a gift with pictures maybe so she can remember her friends here in Nebraska. I am different than most I have always treated my daycare kiddos basically as my own and their parents are some of my closest friends so I really want a sentimental (I think that is how you spell it) gift for her and maybe something the parents can remember me by. If anyone has ideas please share I don't have long but I want to get it right
    Thanks!

I make a picture collage of the kids over the years that they have been with me. I know that costco and walmart both offer them for only a few dollars...every year at our end of the year party I make them for the parents. THey have always always been a huge hit...

Definitely pictures! A collage is a great idea, or a small photo album, CD with photos on it, etc. Be sure to have one taken of her with you and all the other children too.

We had a little girl move to Germany who had been with us for almost 2 years. We made her a photo book of pictures of her at daycare, and went in chronological order.

I like the photo book idea! I just get sad thinking about her not being here so I wanna make sure she can look at pictures when she misses us. She always has a big smile on her face when she arrives and sometimes doesn't want to go which I'm pretty sure is something to do with being an only child because my daughter does the same whenever she is staying with anyone who has kids.

Walmart does some nice hardback picture books for not that much. It's just like looking at a real book with your own pictures.

We always do little picture books when our kiddos leave/graduate. The dollar store often sells little 4X5 soft cover album books. We fill it full of pictures (we take pics every day and do a picture blog for the parents so we have lots!!)

I saw the parents of 2 little boys who left when their mom had another child and decided to be a SAHM- she said the boys still talk about "school" (a year later!) and they regularly get out their picture books and look through them and talk about them

Not pictures, but when my childhood friend moved away, we did handprints on a large tshirt with fabric paint. She still talks about it, 25 years later. I think that would be cute on a receiving blanket. It can be a project all her little friends can contribute to and can go along with a collage or photo book.

photos are great. The best present from a daycare teacher from my boys was a disc with a bunch of pictures of my son on it from his time in that class. It is so precious to me because it gave me a glimpse of his time in his 2 year old room.

When my 3 kindergartners left last year, I made them each a posterboard sized collage filled with pictures. It made us all cry as their moms would sit on the floor with the kids and pour over each picture.
The year before that, one of my special little guys had to change daycares due to job location, so I made a large collage and everybody added their handprints on the opposite side. Mom says he still has it on his bedroom wall. We all became like family and certain kids are especially missed.

I've made t-shirts with an iron-on pic of all the dcks and the name of the dc. Staples sells the iron-on paper for your printer and then you just iron it on. It's really easy.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the hard back picture books from Walmart. Affordable and professional. And yes, it's just like a real hard back book you would buy but with your own pictures and descriptions with the pictures.
