    Contracts and policies

Do you ever email them to a parent before an interview? I've had one request it so they can look it over before coming. I don't mind because at least they would hopefully come with questions, but at the same time, I don't want any policies to throw them off before even coming. I know some put it on their websites.

I always try to e-mail it to parents before even setting up an interview. I have been told many times that it is too demanding, that I charge too much, etc. I'd just as soon have their agreement before wasting my time on an interview. I tell them that I would like them to look over my handbook and contract before setting up an interview, that my policies are not negotiable, so I want them to look it over and decide then if they would like to proceed. I am sure that I lose clients that I could sign on in person over this, but I don't care. If they can't respect my policies, they can go somewhere else.

I'm going to start emailing them ahead of time. I have my policies on my website but don't know if parents read them over or not. I used to give out paper copies at interviews but now that my policies are over 50 pages I can't afford it.
