    4th of July???

Since the 4th of July falls on a Thursday, are you taking Thursday AND Friday off??? I don't really like the idea of having Thurday off, just to be open the next day, then closed again for the weekend...kwim??? Just curious...

I closed for both and gave a discount for Friday.

    4 day weekend. happyface

(mosquito bites, sunburns, diaper rashes and cranky, overtired toddlers. THAT is a request fitting of a Granny in my book)

I'm not taking any time off for the 4th... but that's because if I close I don't charge and money's kind of a priority for me these days

I have thought about the same exact thing. I know that Friday will be a bummer of a day because all of the kids will be wasted tired from the 4th activities.

Right now I don't have anyone scheduled for Fridays in July. My baby turns one on the 6th, so we're having her bday party that afternoon! Either way, though, I'd take it as a personal day- I wouldn't want to be open for that one day, either

I'm closed. I put it as a vacation day on the list that I gave out to the parents at the beginning of this year.

Our neighbors are notorious for illegal fireworks til 3-4am (and usually ends with police and a fight). I really don't want to get up early after a night of being woke up repeatedly, plus I want a 4 day weekend!

I closed last year for 2 days at Thanksgiving and absolutely LOVED it. I felt so recharged after so I decided to take 2 days off for the 4th. I'm closed Thursday and Friday paid.

Oh this WILL change after a year or two... I've just got myself set up so that it's totally up to me whether I feel like taking them off or not. My first year in business (I'm only in month two actually) is being dedicated to getting my name out there and getting families in. This isn't to say I'm taking just anyone or that I'm compromising on my policies... really the only thing I've compromised on is no pay on closures.

Anydoodle, when that I change it I would definitely consider doing what you're doing for the 4th. Seems like everyone was happy with your arrangement. That 4 day weekend sounds pretty awesome!

I did this for all of my vacations prior to 2013 beginning. They are all aware of the days I will be closed with pay.

I still took off with pay my first year. You could do this if you give ample notice.
