Road Signs??

Their reasoning is that there are to be no businesses in a residential area. The exception, by state law, is home child care. However, while they allow us to have a home child care business there are to be no signs BUT technically there aren't supposed to be any business things in our neighborhood like trucks parked in driveways, etc.
I have neighbors who have a lawn care/landscaping business but they cannot park their truck in their driveway. They have to keep it at a separate location. Another neighbor sneaks and has a CPR/First Aid training business in their home but that isn't their main job. He can't have a sign either. One lady who used to live on our street had a beauty shop in her home...sneaking too.
I guess I see their point if all these people had businesses and signs on their property then it wouldn't look like a residential area any more.
I knew one provider in our neighborhood that didn't have a sign but had a van she used for childcare with an advertisement on the van that just happened to be parked in her driveway. :: Nobody ever said anything to her.

Maybe the rule has changed ?!? It was definitely a rule when my mom
opened the daycare in 2003 - so I always just followed it. But I honestly can't recall seeing it in print in the licensing regulations lately ?!?
It used to be a safety thing, so that the exact location wasn't available, but that might have gone out the window the minute they started publishing our addresses on the Child Care Locator - a little over a year ago. So that rule really wouldn't make sense now that our addresses are published.- Flag

I wish I could have a sign to put out.
I live in an HOA where it's not allowed
My Very good friend is the senior city planner for our city and she told me its against city ordinance to post business advertisements anywhere but on a bill board. So I can't have any.....
But I am thinking about getting a car wrap for our daycare minivan.
It's strictly business use.- Flag
