Dcbaby is 8mo.

She doesn't sleep because she is used to sleeping in bed with mom. I thought this would stop when she fell out of bed and hit her head on the wood floor, but no, still sleeping in bed with mom!) Which means here she screams her head off if I lay her down awake for a nap. She will cry for an hour!

An 8mo, she cannot eat out of a 3-6mo size nipple. She only likes the newborn -3mo nipple. Unlike dcm I don't have time to dawdle around and let her take a **** here and there for a feeding.

Dcm requests that I chop infant puffs in half for her. Seriously? Those puffs are made for infants and they are pretty dang small already!

I'd give the issues back to the mom.

If she can't sleep or eat while in care (as expected to according to development) then I would send her home.

exactly. if she wants the puffs cut in half, she can send them pre cut

but I personally would not keep a baby that will not nap. I will do my best to get them on routine and give it 4 to 6 weeks but if they still dont adjust, then my daycare is not the right fit for them. If I have a baby bottle feeding, I allow 20 minutes for each feeding and I teach the child to hold their own bottle asap usually about 6 months old. I would bet the faster flow nipples would actually encourage this baby to eat better rather than get frustrated and give up on the bottle before a feeding is done.

all this to say, I dont even take kids younger than 18 months anymore.

I went through this with my now 13 mo old. It was rough on my nerves but finally, the child is napping pretty well for me. I just had to be very consistent here - and very, very patient! It hasn't been fun but it is getting better so there is hope!

Thankfully, I haven't been asked to cut puffs though. This child loves puffs and has never had a problem eating them.

At first when dcm would complain that baby wasn't sleeping, or got up at night to eat I would try different things during the day to try and alleviate those issues at home. But the more dcm tells me the more I just go about my day because dcm makes no effort at home to make things better. "You're tired?" I am sure you are because you have a wiggly whiney baby in your bed!

About sending them precut, that's what I told the mom who said her 4 year old (yes, 4 year old) liked his grapes peeled. I told her she could send peeled grapes but I wasn't going to peel them for a 4 year old.
