    Fathers Day gift?

One of my kids lost their father last year to brain cancer. (The parents were divorced and separated but the dad and child were close). So....

We are working on fathers day gifts. Last year I made his with a string that he could attach to the tomb stone as the dad passed right before Fathers Day.

This year I showed him what we are making and asked him who he would like to make his for? Daddy like last year? A grandfather? Mommys boyfriend? What did he want to do. He thought long and hard and said he wanted to give his gift to Mommy.

We are making handprints out of foam and coloring them with markers then writing "DADDY" on the fingers and placing a picture of the child inside and adding a pin on the back to wear. I can change the name to "MOMMY" but what about the card?? I don't know if I want to make another mothers day type card. Any ideas on what to do?? Help me come up with something creative!

Can't you adapt the Father's Day card to mothers? I had a family with two mommies and always adapted the Father's Day gift for mommy.

I was looking for a creative way to do that. Get ideas on HOW. I don't want a remake of Mother's Day. So I was looking for creative thoughts

I'm not really sure what you mean? Do you mean you don't want to make the same card as the others are making for Dad's and put Mommy on it? Or do you mean you dont want a "Girly" theme?

What about a card made to look like a toolbox then inside all the "tools" the mom gives the child like a piece of tape to show its important to stick to a task/your word/stick together, a measuring tape/ruler - measure your words before you speak etc.
