Did someone say they used glow sticks to "grow" theirs? Dd wanted to try it, so she gave me her money and I went to 4 different stores before finally finding them. She is itching to start them, but now I can't find the link.

Use this (link below) water to hydrate the beads.
They glow like CRAZY!!! The only bad part is you do need a black light to make them glow.
I think you might be able to search that blog and find a way to make them glow without the black light but I am not sure.
Here are mine:Last edited by Blackcat31; 10-12-2014, 07:57 AM.- Flag

I got my black lights from Spencers for under $15. I got a hand held one for free when buying the bigger one. I permanently attached it to the wall (way up high) in the one room that I can get totally dark so that it's easy to use and always available.
Once I discovered how cool the water is from the highlighters, we found all sorts of things to make "glow"....like play-doh, rice, noodles, paint, discovery bottles etc...
Be careful with the high liter water because if you splash it anywhere....you will see it when the black light is on.... :: It does stain your hands too. NOT once it's in the water beads but my hands glowed for a few days after I made the water....

I would not use the glow sticks, this is a warning off one of the websites:
The activated liquid even though non-toxic may contain tiny shards of glass which may cause injury should the light stick be punctured or split open. The liquid can permanently stain clothing or furniture and can cause skin or eye irritation. Some light stick products may contain small elements, posing choking hazards. I would do it the way BC suggested, always better safe than sorry.- Flag

Highlighter idea is neat!- Flag
