oh my will someone please wake me from this nightmare??

    Oh goodness.

I just posted about "passive aggressive/backbone" and decided I was going to revise my policy book.

Then I get a text message from another DCP giving me notice.

This is a legit reason (I think) but it comes at a time when I am already scrounging to make ends meet.

I care for mainly teachers children and I do not charge a summer holding fee nor do I charge extra through the school year to make up for my loss during the summer. If I did I would not have clients or they would "risk" not having the space come fall and simply not pay.

I have a couple other families that I count on to get me through the summer and I lost one a couple weeks ago (the young DCM I wrote about in earlier post), I haven't heard from another DCF (probably bc the state increased her fee and she doesn't want to pay that much), a DCM who goes to school during the summer (just gave me notice), another DCK I will only have through June and returns in August.

I am at the end of my rope- ready to throw in the towel. I just can't catch a break.

    No calls for care either.

Has anyone ever advertised for drop-in only? How did that work?

UGH ready to look for a summer job--- but that one DCK needs me and so do MY kids.

    Thanks for the vent.

Start advertising like crazy on craigslist, this time of year,I get a lot of calls when I do!

If you can, post an ad at your nearest schools bulletin board or leave some flyers with the front desk so the teachers can see and the secretaries will spread the word. For teachers, I charge half price in the summer and they can bring their kids for two days a week. They like that.

I haven't done drop in, it sort of freaks me out. But I know some ladies on here do, hopefully they have more advice!
