    Outside Toys

    Hi-
I need ideas of things I can have that keeps BOTH school age and toddlers actively engaged out doors. I do not want to do ground cover. I sold my play set to avoid this. I have a tether ball, plenty of toys: balls, badminton, hooks hoops, bikes, and toys of that sort. I also have a sand box and water table. I recently purchased a teeter totter thinking it wouldn't require ground cover ( I was just told it does!) - the kids LOVE the teeter totter and it makes them ACTIVE! Amy one have any ideas on what I can replace it with that won't require ground cover?? Some regulations make me so frustrated!! Thanks

I have most of my dress up in a bin for outside, they love it. These aren't toys but we also play alot of games - jump the creek, tag, duck, duck, goose, etc.

Mud kitchen!! All the neighborhood kids hang out in our yard to use mine after hours, and when the school-aged kids come back, that's where they spend nearly all their time. It's also the hands-down favorite of 2-year-olds. I have some pictures of our super-simple set-up here.

What is ground cover? does that mean you dont want to kill the grass with any play structure?

My husband built a really nice play structure in our backyard and I really would not want to do daycare without it. It has a castle on top, another platform with a slide, a climbing ladder, a clubhouse underneath and four swings.

We also have a sandbox and a trampoline and balls and hulahoops

Out front we have bikes and scooters and sidewalk chalk.

I have tried tons of other things but this is what has stood the test of time. I might add a play kitchen outside but thats it.
